Runner - Paris Marathon

Team #PersonalBestFoundation takes on the Paris Marathon

Personal Best Foundation is celebrating as 25runners prepare to take on the Schneider Electric Paris Marathon next month. The group, made up of supporters from across the UK, have spent the winter training through relentless rain, cold mornings and dark evenings. They are all united by one goal: to run 26.2 miles through Paris, to help raise money to create more opportunities for children and young people.

Training for a purpose

Despite the challenging weather, the team has shown remarkable commitment. Every mile logged, every fundraising target reached, and every tough session completed brings the Foundation closer to expanding its programmes. Using funetics sessions and the power of athletics to build confidence and wellbeing. The sessions focus on helping young people develop fundamental movement skills of run, jump and throw in fun, safe and inclusive environments.

Emma who is running for the Foundation said about the training:

''Marathon training isn't easy, especially with the weather. Fitting it in around work and parenting is a challenge, and long runs leave me feeling wiped out. But I am loving the journey and excited for the event itself and proud of the work I am putting in to get there.''

Amy Weaver-Tyler Foundation Manager at Personal Best Foundation said:

“Watching this team push through the toughest training months has been incredibly inspiring. Their dedication directly supports the opportunities we can offer - helping more children access funetics and the wider programmes that help them thrive.”

With just under 8 weeks to go the Foundation is celebrating not just the runners’ physical effort, but the impact their fundraising will have on the next generation.

Amy added:

We’re so proud of every single runner, and we’re deeply grateful for the difference they’re making.”

The big day!

Team Personal Best will join more than 50,000 runners on the streets of Paris. They will take in iconic landmarks, starting at the Champs-Élysées at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe, passing the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower, finishing close to the Arc de Triomphe. The race is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, hopefully the team of runners can enjoy the city as they run! We want to thank every runner, supporter, friend and family - we appreciate all your commitment and resilience!
