Personal Best Foundation Welcomes Two New Trustees

Lawrence Henry and Alice Couldwell

The Personal Best Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of two new trustees, Alice Couldwell and Lawrence Harvey, whose expertise and passion for sport will strengthen the charity’s mission to empower young people through athletics.

Alice Couldwell is an award-winning journalist, with nearly six years of experience as a national radio newsreader. Now leading communications for junior parkrun, her work inspires children and families to be happier and healthier through movement and community. Alice is a regular parkrunner herself, and member of her local running group. She loves to champion the transformative impact movement and sport can have on young people; a vision which aligns perfectly with the Personal Best Foundation's commitment to building confidence, opportunity and joy through sport.

Alice has been closely involved with the Foundation as a board observer, and now steps into a full trustee role. She said:

“I’m honoured to join the Personal Best Foundation as a trustee. Sport has the power to change lives, and I’m excited to help more young people discover confidence, community, and joy through athletics”.

Lawrence Harvey is a Business Executive, Bestselling Author, and former Masters World Champion in the Triple Jump. With over two decades of leadership experience across Aldi, Tesco, Barclays, and PizzaExpress, Lawrence brings a wealth of strategic insight. Beyond his business career, he has represented Great Britain in athletics, winning the Triple Jump Masters World Champion title in 2016. His acclaimed book TRIPLE JUMP TRAILBLAZERS celebrates legendary athletes and the enduring power of sport. Lawrence’s dedication to giving back to athletics reflects the Foundation’s belief in sport as a force for personal and social transformation.

Lawrence said:

"I've been fortunate enough to have Athletics in my life ever since primary school, without which, I would almost certainly have had a less fulfilled existence than the one I have been so fortunate to live to date; my appreciation and passion for the sport will therefore be life-long – it is an absolute privilege to contribute and amplify this message through the incredible work already being done by Personal Best Foundation; providing children and young people from under-served backgrounds and communities with the opportunity to participate and achieve their Personal Best through the power of Athletics!"

Together, Alice and Lawrence bring valuable experience and passion to the Personal Best Foundation, strengthening our mission to empower young people through sport. Their appointment marks an exciting step as we continue to grow our reach and impact.
